Since Freddie Mercury's tragic death and bassist John Deacon's retirement, it's obviously not been possible to see the classic Queen lineup in concert.

Guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor have kept the flame burning with a series of tours, first with Free's Paul Rodgers and over the last decade or so with Adam Lambert fronting the group.

The current Queen touring group features half of the original lineup, but obviously established stars like Rodgers and Lambert put their own spin on the all-important frontman role.

So if you're looking to see something a bit more like the original Queen in style – and in the smaller venues they played before they advanced to arena and then stadium superstardom in the 1980s – you may actually be better off seeing a Queen tribute band.

And there's no better choice than Queen Extravaganza, a tribute band handpicked by May and Taylor to make sure they're doing everything just right.

Queen Extravaganza have been touring since 2012 with various lineup changes over the years, and now Brian and Roger have announced the newest version of the group, as well as a clutch of UK live shows.

Joining Nick Radcliffe on guitar and François-Olivier Doyon on bass are George Farrar on drums and Alirio Netto and Gareth Taylor on vocals. Tickets are available now.

"This spectacular 90-minute show features more than 20 Queen classics drawn from the band’s biggest hits: 'Bohemian Rhapsody', 'Another One Bites the Dust', 'Crazy Little Thing Called Love', 'Under Pressure', 'We Will Rock You', 'We Are the Champions', 'Radio Ga Ga', 'Somebody to Love' and 'Killer Queen' as well as other fan favourites," said Queen in a statement.
