Victoria Beckham has wished her fellow Spice Girls good luck as they start their comeback tour - and husband David has also posted his own message of support.

Emma Bunton, Geri Horner, Melanie Brown and Melanie Chisholm - aka Baby, Ginger, Scary and Sporty - announced they would be reuniting in November last year, and return to the stage for the first Spice Girls gig in Dublin tonight.

But they will not be joined by Posh, now a successful fashion designer, who said when the shows were confirmed that she would not be part of the tour.

Ahead of tonight's show, Beckham posted a photo of the band's famous 1997 Brit Awards performance, at which Geri wore the Union Jack dress that has gone down in the ceremony's history.

Next to the picture, she posted: "Good luck to the girls today as they start their tour! x VB #SpiceGirls #FriendshipNeverEnds."

In his message on Instagram, David Beckham posted a picture of his wife dressed in a PVC catsuit in the Say You'll Be There Video - which he has famously said was the reason he fell in love with her.

"As someone that has lived with Posh Spice for the last 23 years I know how emotional today is going to be but I just want to wish all the girls good luck with their amazing tour.

"There will only ever be one Posh Spice."

Meanwhile, the Spice Girls themselves have been posting their own messages ahead of the show.

Emma posted this picture from Dublin…

While Geri shared a picture hinting that she may gone back to her ginger roots.

Brown posted a video saying "today's the day", while Mel C put up a picture of one of the band's first photo shoots.

The Spice World tour takes in 13 dates and finishes at London's Wembley Stadium on June 15.
