Stevie Wonder made the announcement while performing at his headline show at British Summer Time in Hyde Park on Saturday (July 6).

The American Motown legend told fans of his condition as he finished his set, explaining that he had a donor and that he will perform a few more shows before taking a break ahead of the surgery in September.

Stevie Wonder said: "I'm all good, I'm all good, all good, I have a donor and it's all good.

"I want you to know, I came here to give you my love and thank you for your love. I love you and God bless you."

Fans cheered at the news, giving him a huge round of applause as he left the stage.

Earlier this week, there were reports that Wonder was battling a serious health issue. The singer said he was “doing better now than he was a couple of months ago,” at the time.

Wonder's show in Hyde Park was the second of five major concerts in London this summer. His set included many classics including 'For Once in My Life', 'Signed, Sealed, Delivered' and 'Master Blaster'.

His Song Party show was also supported by Lionel Richie earlier in the evening.

Wonder's setlist also featured a tribute to singers who have died, including Michael Jackson, Amy Winehouse, Prince and Aretha Franklin.

Celine Dion had previously wowed fans on Friday night, while Barbra Streisand takes to the stage on Sunday.

Next week will see shows from Florence + The Machine and Robbie Williams.
