Engelbert Humperdinck has announced a live-stream performance for next week, giving fans who are missing his live shows something to tide them over during the coronavirus pandemic restrictions.

On Thursday, July 23, Engelbert will host the show on his YouTube channel for the hour-long Engelbert Live set.

The show will feature an intimate performance from the singer, including new favourites and classic hits.

This will be the 84-year-old’s very first live-streamed performance, with Engelbert promising “some rare surprises and never-performed-before songs”.

The singer said: “I love going on the road, but for now the road is coming to me.

“YouTube and you are helping me through and opening up a whole new and much bigger world for me… instantly!

“I’ve been so excited about this secret project. I miss singing so much that I’ve been rehearsing at my dining room table with the speaker and an audience of just me.

“I love going on the road, but for now the road is coming to me. So please join me on my YouTube channel for songs stories and you!”

Nicknamed the “King of Romance”, Englebert has enjoyed over 50 years in music, including representing the UK at the Eurovision Song Contest.

A description for the show reads: “Yearning to spend more time with his fans and spread some love and music, international superstar Engelbert Humperdinck will do just that on Thursday, July 23, 2020. He has been preparing for a very special and intimate performance and event that will be live-streamed worldwide exclusively on YouTube.

Engelbert Live will be an hour-long event on July 23 at 12:00pm PST/3:00pm EST where Engelbert will be talking with fans and answering questions LIVE on YouTube before and after his performance of a number of his classic hits and recent songs from his beloved songbook, including some rare surprises and never-performed-before songs.

“Since touring isn't currently possible, Engelbert wants to deliver his music to his fans directly to their homes and this streaming event is the perfect vehicle to reach his audience from all over the globe.”
