The Sixties band which will always be The Sound Of Summer...
Formed in 1961, the Beach Boys dominated popular music in the USA in the early and mid Sixties.
With a steady stream of charismatic hits such as 'Good Vibrations', 'Fun Fun Fun', 'I Get Around', 'California Girls' and 'Wouldn't It Be Nice', the Boys laid the basis for many years in the upper reaches of the charts on both sides of the Atlantic, with The Beatles as their only real rivals.
Despite a string of musical break-ups and health breakdowns, and the deaths of two of the original members (Dennis and Carl Wilson), the Beach Boys have retained the affection of the music public.
All five founder members - Brian, Dennis and Carl Wilson, Mike Love and Al Jardine - are in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
