Help: Listening Online
If you are having problems trying to listen to Gold online and the radio player is freezing onscreen or not launching, the most common problem is that your computer does not have the correct software installed.
Our media player is a Windows Media Player, therefore you will need to install Windows Media software to launch the listen live/listen again/video player.
Below is a list of the supporting software that may be relevant to you and the links to the download the software and install so you can listen. All the software required is free.
Windows Users
Software the Player should support:
* Windows 95 or higher
* Windows XP users note: Gold must be listed as a "trusted site" for streaming to work.
Windows Browser Suggestion:
Browser Plug-in: Windows Media Player 7.
Note: Version 7 is not compatible with Windows '95.
You will not be able to view the player controls if you are using a firefox browser with OS Windows.
Apologies for any inconvenience - we are working on players to help in the near future.
Software Downloads:
Download Microsoft Internet Explorer
Download Windows Media Player
Mac & Linux Users
Using a Mac Safari web browser can often prohibit access but using a Firefox web browser might work.
Software the Gold Player should support:
* Mac OS 9 or OS X.
Browser:
* Internet Explorer version 4, 5 or 6.
Note: versions 3 and below are not compatible.

Minimum Hardware Requirements
We recommend the following as a minimum specification:
* 166MHz processor or higher
* 16-bit soundcard
* Speakers (connected)
* 28.8kbps modem or better - we recommend hi-bandwidth connection for best results.
Other Streaming Formats
At present we do not offer any other streamingformats. This is because we have to encode all of our streamed content for every format and every quality level. We have opted to offer streams that the majority of users will be able to enjoy, though we are constantly reviewing this situation.
Norton Personal Firewall Users
Our player is launched in a pop up window, which some computer software will block thinking. For example, the new version of Internet Explorer (IE7) blocks any pop-ups as standard.
You may need to disable your pop-up blocker function on your computer settings if the player is not launching or is frozen on your screen or simply allow the function. Software like Firewall and Firefox are common pop-up blocker programmes.
To allow the player to function correctly, follow the steps below to exempt the correct domain from ad blocking, delete all of your temporary files, and then restart your computer.

Still Got Problems?
The Online Player Doesn't Seem To Be Connecting
It may take some time to open and start the online radio player depending on your Internet connection speed. The player should first show that it's connecting before it shows that it's buffering.
Shortly after it should start playing the live radio stream. This could take up to five minutes depending on the speed you're connecting to the Internet.
The Listen Live Stream Keeps Breaking Up
At times, you may lose the Gold Listen Live stream only for it to return soon after. This is down to a (usually) temporary connection problem that affects the servers.
Delete Your Temporary Files
Sometimes having a spring clean and deleting all your temporary files can help too. Delete your temporary files then restart your PC.
Workplace Bans
Some offices / businesses block their staff from being able to use certain websites and mechanics (like online players) within the business. This is why you may find that your laptop or PC will launch the player elsewhere but not at work.
