There are no constraints to the music we play - if it's a great song from any genre in the last five decades, you’ll hear it on Gold.

Created by the merging of the Capital Gold and Classic Gold radio networks, Gold delivers the widest breadth of music currently available anywhere else on commercial radio. As well as playing the greatest songs from the last five decades, you’ll be entertained with a variety of specialist music shows, exclusive interviews, free downloadable celebrity podcasts, special guest DJs and VIP gigs.

Alongside much-loved singles we also mix in more rarities including album tracks, B-sides and live performances. Tune in to Gold and enjoy an eclectic selection of great tracks by Gold-rated artists including The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Madonna, Amy Winehouse, U2, Blondie, The Who, Aretha Franklin, Oasis, David Bowie, The Beach Boys, George Michael, The Eagles, The Doors, Stevie Wonder, Michael Bublé and Led Zeppelin – just to name a few.

New Schedule Highlights

The new station features a new national Breakfast Show, a national Drivetime Show and a raft of weekend specialist music shows. David 'Kid' Jensen takes over the coveted weekday Breakfast Show slot which he will present alongside co-host Erika North from 06.00 – 10.00.

Mike Sweeney takes over the weekday Drivetime helm from 16.00 – 20.00, followed by Sam Hughes who presents late evenings from 20.00 to 00.00, Monday to Thursday.

Each network area has its own locally presented weekday afternoon show from 12.00 to 16.00pm except for in London where the show will broadcast between 13.00 and 16.00.

Paul Coyte takes up the Weekend Breakfast Show slot on Saturday & Sunday and David Jensen will continue to present his Saturday Celebrity Show with OK! Magazine from 09.00 to 12.00.

Saturdays are set to rock on Gold with an afternoon dedicated to anthemic classic rock music. The legendary Friday Rock Show with Mike Sweeney has now moved to the peak Saturday lunchtime slot from 12.00 – 14.00.

Nicky Horne will keep the afternoon rocking with a blend of the biggest anthems combined with the latest sports reports in the Sport Saturday Show.

On Sundays Gold has an array of specialist music programmes such as The Classic Album Show with Nicky Horne, Gold Rewind – featuring legendary live performances from the archive and the ‘60s classics show with Mike Sweeney. The new Gold network is also committed to providing news bulletins per hour which include local news, traffic, travel, weather and sports updates.
