The Beach Boys 50th Anniversary in Music

Their songs provide the soundtrack to the summer, and as they prepare to celebrate their 50th anniversary next year, speculation is looming about whether the original members will reunite.

But founding member Mike Love has issued a statement saying that there are no plans for Brian Wilson to join them on tour:

“The Beach Boys continue to tour approximately 150 shows a year in multiple countries. At this time there are no plans for my cousin Brian to rejoin the tour.  He has new solo projects on the horizon and I wish him love and success.  We have had some discussions of writing and possibly recording together, but nothing has been planned.  I, as I’m sure he is, am proud and honored that The Beach Boys music has endured these 50 years, but felt the need to clarify that there are no current 'reunion' tour plans.”

Come on Gold, get on the case. Get Mike and Brian to make up, and sponsor their reunion tour in the UK. The World needs to see the original members of the Beach Boys together again. I saw them at Cardiff in 1968, and it changed my life.

It would be brilliant if they re united for their 50th anniversary. A UK tour would be a huge sucsess and a sell out.
